A Set of Six Les Arcs Chairs

Attributed to Charlotte Perriand

Charlotte Perriand was part of the Les Arcs ski resort design team in France in the 1960s, which also features many examples of her work. In her 1929 manifesto about the qualities of wood and metal she stated "The Future will favour materials that wear effortlessly, like metal". She then went on to mention "If we use metal in conjunction with leather for chairs, we get a range of wonderful combinations and new aesthetic effects". These six chairs are in their original condition. The leather has acquired a beautiful patina from years of age and use. Should you require any further images of each chair, we will be more than happy to oblige.
